  1. 88% of consumers have read online reviews to determine the quality of a business. 49% of these people read reviews occasionally, and 39% read them regularly. This leaves only 12% of consumers that don’t read online reviews. Bottom line: Reviews are important because people read them.
  2. 72% of consumers say that positive reviews help them trust businesses more. Bottom line: People who trust your business are more likely to spend money there.
  3. 77% of online shoppers read reviews before making a purchase. Even though this applies to online shopping, it’s another indicator that people read reviews and take them into account before taking an action, whether it’s buying a shirt or booking a trip. Bottom line: People not only read reviews, but take them into account when making purchases.

 

Reviews have become increasingly important in today’s digital world. The vast majority of consumers read online reviews and take them into account when they make buying decisions, and this trend is not going to change anytime soon.
